What ExploreTCGSets stores in your browser, which services your browser contacts, and how analytics and advertising work.
Last updated 12 October 2026. Questions: [email protected].
In short
ExploreTCGSets has no accounts and does not ask for your name or email. Your favorites and checklists stay in your own browser. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and Google AdSense to show ads, and both may use cookies.
Who publishes this site
ExploreTCGSets is a personal fan project. The contact address [email protected] reaches the publisher about privacy, corrections or removal requests.
What the site stores on your device
The site saves a few small records in your browser’s local storage, under keys that start with etcg:v1::
- cards you marked as favorites,
- cards you marked as owned, per set,
- cards you opened recently (up to 24),
- display preferences, such as where you were on a timeline.
These records are never sent to a server. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them. Search text stays in your browser too: the site searches its own files and does not send what you type anywhere.
Services your browser contacts
To show cards, your browser loads images and files from these services, which receive the usual technical request data (such as your IP address and browser type):
- Scryfall (cards.scryfall.io and svgs.scryfall.io) for Magic card images and set symbols,
- the Pokémon TCG API (images.pokemontcg.io) and Scrydex (images.scrydex.com) for Pokémon card images and set logos,
- Pokécardex (pokecardex-scans.b-cdn.net) for Japanese Pokémon card images,
- GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com) for PokéAPI species artwork,
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site (see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy).
Fonts are served from this site, so no request goes to a font service.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how it is used: which pages are viewed, roughly where visits come from, and what kind of device and browser are used. Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga and collects data such as the page address, referring page, approximate location and device information. This data is used only in aggregate, to measure traffic and improve the site. It is not used to identify you, and the site has no accounts to link it to.
Google processes this data under its own policies: see How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
The site shows ads from Google AdSense (publisher id ca-pub-4059575347806121). Google and its partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to show and measure ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google’s ad settings, and learn more in How Google uses cookies in advertising.
Where the law requires consent for these cookies (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), Google’s consent message asks for it before personalized ads are shown.
Children
The site is a general-audience reference and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. It has no sign-up, comments or messaging.
Your choices
You can clear the site’s storage at any time in your browser settings, block cookies, opt out of analytics, or turn off personalized ads as described above. For any privacy question or request, write to [email protected].
